It was such a fast read and the characters were very well written. I found it very easy to relate to the characters. Family Secrets, Whispering Pines 1 - An intriguing story. After finishing Stick and Stones, I dove into Family Secrets, my second book by this new-to-me author. These two books are nothing alike on storylines, except fantasy.
I was drawn into this well written novel with an interesting plot and realistic characters, including the lovable dog. I couldn't put Family Secrets down until it was finished. There's an overview letting the reader know what the book is about, which I appreciate. This aut I read these stories as they came out. Twists and turns, well thought out and well written. I loved the dog!! Jayne O'Shea is in Whispering Pines to clean out her grandmother's house.
She finds the house vandalized and a body in the backyard. What happened here? Who is the victim? Why is the body there? Come along with Jayne as she solves this puzzle. You'll be glad you did. Kept SecretsWhispering Pleasantly surprised I began reading this set with a bit of trepidation, having decided that if chanting, magic, and casting of spells started, it would be a quick end. What I found was a delightful entry into a small town where the original settlers had hidden secrets for too long.
I really like the characters. They are well described and not unlike us, except for the witch thing. I especially enjoyed the main character, Jayne, as she spoke to the many sides of herself, with mirror Jayne being. A small town, Wicca was a known thing, but they were unconcerned. She investigate , giving us a good story and a good beginning to series.
Kept SecretsJayne is busying solving the murders of the carnies in town, one, now there is another. The sheriff is unconcerned, so she steps up. A town of quirky people, even though the setting seems peacefu This was an okay book.
The mystery was also just okay, but Jayne is annoying as a character. Sometimes she neglects her job, comes in late, goes in and out of the office when she pleases, then she neglects working on the new bed and breakfast which is supposed to be of the highest priority for her. I love a good mystery, and these are a fun read. The Whispering Pines series are murder mysteries with a bit of magic and just a touch of romance They sucked me in with memories of the smells, sights and sounds of camping in the woods, near the water I really enjoyed these three books.
There are a lot of interesting aspects to Whispering Pines and the characters who live there. The carnies were unique and well done. The two of you are asking questions about a murder and getting people upset. He leveled a glare at me and then returned to Lupe. Talk about the beauty of the area. The entertainment at the circus.
